MATH: CHRISTMAS TREE PUNCH

Christmas math activities

Cut out multiple green triangle trees and write a number on the bottom of each. Set the trees out with a hold punch. Have your child pick a tree, identify the number, then count and punch to show how many. This activity is great for both one-to-one counting practice and FINE MOTOR practice! Yay!

LITERACY: CHRISTMAS LIGHT NAMES

Christmas activities for kids

Cut out multiple colored paper lights. Have your child count the letters in their name then write each letter on a light. Cut out a black paper “string strand” and glue it to a sheet of paper. Invite your child to order the letter lights in their name and glue them on the string.

FINE MOTOR: TAPE CANDY CANE

Looking for a super easy fine motor and scissor skills activity? This is it! We love using masking tape in our activities and can’t wait for you to try this one!

Draw a simple candy cane outline on a sheet of paper. Give your child red and green masking tape. Cut tape pieces and stick them along the candy cane to create a pattern. Cut out the candy cane outline.

SCIENCE: CHRISTMAS ICE BLOCK

Grab a baking pan and fill it with water. Toss in small peppermint candies, plastic gems, plastic candy canes, Christmas colored pom poms, etc. Place the pan in the freezer and freeze! Set the ice block in a large bin with toy hammers, tweezers and squeeze bottles of warm water. 

CRAFT: FINGER DOT PAINTED TREE

Glue a small brown square paper cutout to the bottom of a sheet of paper (trunk). Above the square use a pencil to draw a large triangle shape (tree). Set out green paint and have your child dip and dot their finger in the paint to create the tree. Once full, give them colored paint to dip and dot their finger to add lights.

WRITING: CHRISTMAS CARD STATION

Christmas cards for kids

Fill a small bin with stickers, markers, folded sheets of paper, and name cards (friends and family). Set out the bin and encourage your littles to create Christmas cards for loved ones!

MOVE YOUR BODY!

Now it’s time to get up and moving! I love finding themed kids movement songs on YouTube to use in class or at home! These songs are perfect for mid-day breaks and are always FUN! Take a listen to this Christmas twist on a childhood favorite!
