LITERACY: TAPE HEART LETTER MATCH

Create a heart on the wall out of masking tape. Use a Sharpie to label it with letters. Tear small pieces of masking tape and add them to the wall around the heart. Write the same letters on these small pieces of tape. Have your child pick a piece of tape, identify the letter, and match it to the correct letter on the heart.
*No tape? Do this on the ground by creating a heart on regular paper and labeling it with letters. Cut small pieces of paper and label them with the same letters. Pick a piece of paper, identify the letter, and match it to the correct letter on the heart.
MATH: COUNT & COLOR SORT

Label pink, red, and purple foam hearts with numbers. Set out a tray of matching colored pompoms. Have your child identify each number then, count and match that number of pompoms to the heart.
SCIENCE: VALENTINE FIREWORKS

Fill a clear glass with water. Pour 2TBLS of oil into a small cup and mix in a few drops of red, pink, and purple liquid food dye. Pour the oil mixture into the water and wait. FIREWORKS!

SENSORY: VALENTINE WATER BIN

Fill a plastic tub with water. Add a few drops of red food dye. Toss in fake flower petals, plastic heart gems, heart cookie cutters, and any other small water proof valentine items. Set out with cups, bowls, funnels, and whisks for playing.
ART: CRAYON RESIST HEART

Use a white crayon to draw a large heart or multiple smaller hearts on a sheet of paper (cardstock works better). Have your child paint over the paper with watercolors until completely cover. Watch your hearts appear!
OTHER: SCISSOR SKILLS

Letās make HEARTS! Fold a sheet of paper in half. Draw half a heart along the fold line. Give your child scissors and have them cut along the line. Open the cut piece to reveal a heart. *Use the hearts to make homemade Valentineās Day cards.
