LITERACY: NUT and BOLT LETTERS

Cut sheets of paper into squares. On each square write a letter. Set out a basket of nuts and bolts. Have your child pick a letter, name it, finger trace it, then outline it with the nuts and bolts.
This simple idea is great for working on letter recognition and formation. Check out this verbal path of letters sheet to help encourage your child to form the letters correctly.
MATH: TOOLS TEN FRAME

Use painterās tape to create a large ten frame on the ground. Set out a basket of basic tools from your toolbox (screwdrivers, wrench, paintbrushes). Create number cards 1-10 and place them face down next to the ten frame. Have your child flip a card, identify the number, and fill the ten frame to match.
FINE MOTOR: ROCK BIN

This construction activity idea can’t get any simpler! Fill a bin with small pebbles or rocks. If you donāt have rocks use a bag of dried beans. Pair the rock bin with toy construction cars. scoops, measuring cups, and funnels. Have fun driving, scooping, and pouring.
STEM: 3 LITTLE PIGS BUILD A HOUSE

Read the story of the Three Little Pigs and talk about each type of house the pigs lived in. Set out a tray of supplies and ask your child to create each different pig house type.
Suggested Tray Supplies:
-Small Sticks
-Small Blocks
-Feathers
-Tape, Craft Sticks, String

ART: BLOCK PAINTING

Roll out a large sheet of art roll paper. Set out plates full of colorful paint and some plastic or foam blocks. Let your children pick a block, dab it in paint, and make block prints on the paper.
PRE-WRITING: CONSTRUCTION CAR LINES

Draw various line types on a large sheet of paper (straight, wavy, zig-zag). Set out construction toy cars and have your child trace over the lines from left to right by driving the cars. For added fun have your child dip the cars in paint then drive the lines.
