LITERACY: ABC LOOK & SPOT EGG

easter themed activities

Draw an egg on a sheet of paper and write letters inside of it. Write the same letters on small slips of paper and place them inside plastic eggs. Scatter and hide the eggs around the room. Have children find an egg, open and identify the letter, then spot it on their sheet and dot it with a marker. We love using our favorite Do-a-Dot Art Markers for this style activity.

MATH: MUFFIN TIN EGG TOWERS

easter math for kids

Grab a muffin tin and label each muffin hole with a number. Set out a basket of plastic egg halves. Invite your child to look at each muffin hole, identify the number, then stack and create an egg tower using that many plastic egg pieces.

SCIENCE: GUESS THE SOUND

easter science activities for kids

Let’s talk about our sense of hearing! Fill a few plastic eggs with various items. I used things like jelly beans, paper clips, coins, rice, etc. Ask your child to pick an egg, shake, and listen! What do they hear? Can they guess what is inside? Have them guess then open to see if they are right.

FINE MOTOR: PAPER EGG CUTTING TRAY

easter egg activities for kids

Cut egg shapes out of construction paper. Draw a line on each: straight, zig-zag, curvy, etc. Set out the paper eggs on a tray with kid scissors. Invite your littles to pick an egg and cut along the line.

SENSORY: SPING PLAY-DOH TRAY

spring playdoh tray

Fill a tray with spring colored Play-Doh. Add popsicle sticks, spring cookie cutters, plastic Easter eggs, pom poms, pipe cleaners, toy bugs, rolling pins etc. Set out the tray and invite your child to imagine and create.

OTHER: SHAVING CREAM EASTER EGGS

Dyed Easter Eggs

Fill small bowls about 2/3 full with shaving cream. Add drops of food dye to each and stir with a popsicle stick. Set a hard-boiled egg in each bowl and cover with shaving cream. Let the eggs sit for 30 minutes then take out and wash under water. Dry with a paper towel. Enjoy your marbled Easter eggs!

**DISCLAIMER: Shaving cream eggs are NOT EDIBLE. Use in your Easter table display or just for decoration. If you want to eat your eggs sub the shaving cream for whipped cream and keep in the fridge. :)**
