Apple Themed CENTERS

Do you have a favorite FALL theme? Hands down, all things APPLES tops my list! We are wrapping up our apple-theme over here, so thought I would pop in and share some of our favorite activities!

AND if you haven’t heard…..Eeeeeek! I have begun creating themed resources full of hands-on ideas, center style activities, and printables that are perfect for littles. All activities in this post are part of my APPLE THEMED set and can be FOUND HERE.
Now let’s get to it! You can’t start a theme without pulling out the books! Here are a few awesome apple-themed book choices for littles.

APPLE SHAPE PLAY DOUGH MATS
I tossed these apple shape mats into the girls Play-Doh Tray Bin and caught them pulling them out several times the last two weeks. Print and laminate for durability and you are set to practice identifying shapes and work on those fine motor skills anytime.
EASY APPLE NAME CRAFT
Name puzzles are such a fun easy way for littles to practice recognizing the letters in their name. I created a simple OVAL apple then wrote the girls’ names on them and cut them apart to make a puzzle. I gave Riley (4) the pieces and asked her to make her name and create an apple. She did it, no problem! For Zoey (2) I gave her the pieces and also had her name written on a sheet of paper for reference. I said things like, “Can you find the letter Z?” She is still recognizing all the letters in her name and this helped make it doable for her.
BEGINNING SOUND APPLE TREES

Printed off these beginning sound apple trees (*tip: use a dry erase pouch instead of laminating) and paired them with a set of magnetic letters tossed in a pom-pom tray for added sensory bin style FUN! I asked Riley to say a picture name, identify its beginning sound, then hunt for that letter, and cover the apple.

APPLE PRINT ADDITION

Taking good ol’ apple stamping to the next level with a little apple addition and counting! Rolled out a sheet of art roll paper, added some basic addition problems, and stamped apples with paint to represent each one! This was SO MUCH FUN (and a little messy HA!)! And don’t worry Zoey (2) got to participate too! I switched things up a little and just wrote the numbers 1-3 on the sheet and had her stamp apples to represent each number, then we all just went crazy and stamped apples EVERYWHERE!

PARTS OF AN APPLE CRAFT

Can’t go wrong with a contact paper apple craft! This tear art craft is great for building fine motor skills and includes a “template” to hang on the wall behind the contact paper so your littles can create their very own apple. As my girls created, we chatted apple parts and even added a few labels to our apple!
APPLE LETTER MATCH

Pulled out are art roll paper AGAIN and whipped up this hands-on letter match activity! A quick sketch of a tree labeled with letters and a set of matching “apple” letters written on sticky notes hid around the house made for a fun review of letters and sounds! Find an apple (they were hidden around the house) then find its match on the tree!

APPLE POPSICLE MATS

When I saw these themed popsicle pictures by Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Designs I knew I had to have them! I created a few apple themed pages for my girls so they could build the apple, trace the letter and word, and count to tell how many popsicle sticks they used! THEY LOVED THESE!

APPLE CLIP CARDS

This was another easy prep activity that was perfect for just pulling out whenever! Clip strips are great for practicing fine motor skills while working on basic concepts. This set is an uppercase to lowercase match activity and would be perfect for morning baskets, centers, or just set out on an apple-themed shelf.
DANCING APPLE SEEDS
An EASY science activity that will get your kids curious and excited!
TAKE A PEEK! We seriously HAD the BEST time playing, learning, and exploring with our APPLE THEME! These activities, and WAY MORE, can be found in my apple-themed activities resource by clicking on any image in this post. The resource includes lots of HANDS-ON ideas, center style activities, and one-page printables (which I was so happy to have when my oldest said MORE please!) so that you can pick and pull from a variety of activities to create and add to your apple week!
ALSO, this resource is part of a GROWING THEMED BUNDLE! READ MORE about it HERE! I’m so excited to create and share with you resources that I know your littles will love! These sets are really a great mix of activities and make it easy for you to plan fun enrichment activities for your littles.
