LITERACY: DINO ALPHABET GAME

dinosaur kids activities

On a large sheet of paper sketch a simple game board. Label each spot with a letter. On one end draw a volcano and on the other end draw a grassy picture. Have each child pick a toy dino game piece and set it on the volcano “start” side. Roll a die, move that many spaces, and identify the letter. Goal is to save your dino from the volcano! Who can make it there first? When your child lands on a letter invite them to name the letter, say its sound, and even think of a word that begins with that letter.

MATH: DINOSAUR EGG COUNT & PUNCH

Cut out various colored paper ovals. Label each oval with number or addition/subtraction fact. Give your child a hole puncher and have them punch holes to represent each number.

FINE MOTOR: DINOSAUR TAPE RESCUE

save the dinosaurs

Toss a few plastic dinosaur figures in the bottom of a bin. Put strips of masking tape across your bin creating various lines. Give your child scissors and have them cut the tape to save the dinosaurs.

MESSY PLAY: DINOSAUR JELL-O RESCUE

dinosaur sensory play

Set plastic dinosaurs and rocks in the bottom of a cake pan. Cover with liquid Jell-O mix then let set in the fridge. When ready, set the pan on a towel and pair with tweezers and cups. This is seriously such a fun dinosaur themed activity! The Jell-O adds such a fun cold texture and I’m sure your kids will love it just as much as mine!

CRAFT: PAPER PLATE DINOSAUR

easy dinosaur craft

Who’s ready for a one plate craft?1 This dinosaur paper plate craft is super easy to make and looks so cute! Cut a paper plate in half. Take one half of the plate and cut out a dinosaur head, tail, and legs. Glue the dinosaur pieces to the other half of the plate (dinosaur body) – legs along the straight edge. Decorate and add a dinosaur face.
