Are you teaching your preschooler how to sort? I like to work on this important early math skill using colors. Sorting by color is great for little learners who are just beginning to sort and provides a way from them to practice this skill with something they already have a basic understanding of.
In this post I’m excited to share with you TEN Sort by Color Activities! You can choose to sort between just two colors or add in even more if your child is ready.
Check them out and let me know which color sort activity is your favorite!
1. Dot Sticker Color Sort Lines

MATERIALS:
- Art Roll Paper
- Dot Stickers
- Markers
HOW-TO:
Tape up a large sheet of art roll paper or lay it flat on the floor. Write a color word name then draw a dotted line next to the word (straight, zig-zag, curvy). Give your child dot stickers and have them sort by color and form each colored line moving from left to right.
*Tip: Peel off the backing of sticker pages to make it easier for little fingers to peel off individual stickers.
